Reasons Why NOT to live in America
So, this article started as an awareness article about a date I only learned of recently, World Environment Day on June 5th.

Then, I realized that I couldn’t find anything on it from the United States. I wondered why other countries are so environmentally concious compared to us. I’d like you to take a look at the first five or six articles that came up when I searched “environment”
Out of the first six search entries, five were from foreign countries. And this was a relevance search, not by date. And that brings me back to the fact that I haven’t even known about World Environment Day for very long. Nobody that I know has made a big deal about it. I haven’t seen it advertised anywhere in America, or even spoken of. When we’re one of the main contributors to the destruction of the planet, we could at least mention the day.
I’ve heard a bigger hype about 4-20 than World Environment Day.
In Israel, they’re having a large event, with festivities and activities to raise awareness, and simply tell people what’s going on.
In the UK, it’s a day to focus on environmental issues in politics, and try to get things done to help the earth.
They aren’t preaching about what we should do, like many people accuse them of doing. They’re saying what is going on, and what they can do to fix it.
Why can’t we just take one day to focus on this? We focus on ourselves for the other 364, so it’s not like it is a huge deal or anything. Just be nice to the earth once in a while, and it might spare your house from a vicious earthquake that swallows your house in and draws it into the center of the earth. Or something like that.
So listen to the foreigners. Celebrate June 5th.
And walk, don’t drive.
Sit Booboo, sit. Good dog.

Nice list! I hope change will come if a democrat wins the election.
Great post. Way to leave an awesome impression.
I have heard about World Environment Day, and it was a few years ago that I had first heard about it. That being said, there is still no reason as to why the US does nothing to participate in this day.
Here are some tidbits of information that I found interesting.
Pregnant women who breathe polluted air deliver babies that are slightly smaller than are those born to mothers in cleaner environments, new government research indicates

A study of Texas residents suggests that tiny metallic bits of air pollution could account for some cases of lung cancer
Here are a few more.
The US produces the most Carbon Dioxide pollution
the US produces the most Nuclear Waste Pollution
there are sooo many statistics and charts on the site that I just listed…you can find that at the top of the list…the the US in almost all of the pollution categories.
“So listen to the foreigners. Celebrate June 5th.”
Gladly.
I also like the idea of individuals getting off their butts and doing something like this, rather than just waiting for the government (that we put there) to do something. You know the old saying… if you want to get something done…
nice article man…HAPPY WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY!!
