Democratic or Republican?

In the past 8 (almost) years, we have had quite a bad taste of a”Republican Rule,” and I use the term “Rule” strictly. I think you can all understand where I am coming from if you have seen anything in the
news over the past years. Bush and his administration is nothing but corruption.
That being said…
In […]

Nebraska Caucus Experience

Over the weekend, I took part in the first Nebraska Democratic Caucus in over 40 years. I have to say, despite a lack of funding from the Nebraska Democratic Party and the ill-preparedness of the caucus sites, it was a very unique experience.
Early estimates put the turn out at my site as only 17 […]

John Edwards WINS in Iowa

OK, he didn’t get the biggest percentage of delegates from the caucuses, but he did win by beating Hillary. He also showed that people want change and that you can get a lot of votes without having to spend zillions of dollars.
Congratulations Mr. Edwards!
Here is his campaign website.

John Edwards and corporations

Corporations can be very good for a country because they employ people, create things, sell things, and provide services.  But there can be problems when corporations have too much influence over government and when they refuse to negotiate with unions or use union workers.  John Edwards is the democratic candidate who is talking the most […]

Bush to veto kids health insurance bill

Uh oh. This just kinda makes me mad.
For one, I know, as well as you know and your neighbor knows that the Heath Care system in the United States just isn’t cutting it.
Talk of Universal Heath Care has been in the air for quite some time now. Yet, a UHC bill has not been passed.
It […]

Letters to the editor

Sorry I have been absent the past weeks. I have been writing letters to my local paper in an attempt to help correct the American Public’s ignorance. My latest letter was in response to this letter published on October 1st:
William O. Stephens seems to be as misguided […]

Congress Sells Out LGBTs By Forgetting the T

The Democratic Leadership in Congress has recently decided to split the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) bill, which originally protected Americans from discrimination workplace discrimination due to sexuality or gender identity. Essentially, this bill would have meant that people can’t be denied employment, fired, or denied career advancement because they’re gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered.
However, the […]

Washington, DC and Voting

Why would anyone in congress keep the people of Washington from voting?

D.C. Vote Bill Dies in Senate

Washington Post Staff Writer
Republican lawmakers yesterday blocked the Senate from taking up the D.C. vote bill, a potentially fatal setback for the District’s most promising effort in years to get a full member of Congress.
The opposition […]

Obviously folding doesn’t mean Rove is out of this poker hand

As I skim through various CNN articles about Karl Rove, they all seem to be about how this leader in countless scandals is gone for good. But is the brain behind many schemes going or is this a public cover-up for something going on deeper in the White House?
I believe that the Bush administration is […]
