The Democratic Leadership in Congress has recently decided to split the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) bill, which originally protected Americans from discrimination workplace discrimination due to sexuality or gender identity. Essentially, this bill would have meant that people can’t be denied employment, fired, or denied career advancement because they’re gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered.

The US government denies basic healthcare to about 15% of all active-duty personell in our military. The female 15%, that is. (And more, too, but let’s focus on one terrible problem at a time.)
