Recently, the Senate Judiciary Committee subpoenaed the White House for documents and testimony relating to the roles former White House counsel Harriet Miers and former White House political director Sara Taylor played in the firing of US attorneys. White House counsel Fred Fielding said “Executive privilege” would be invoked against the subpoena.
