Dan Solis from ThinkYouth (who is formerly one of our editors and founders) sent me this video along with this note:
If this doesn’t get you motivated to endorse Hillary on your blog, I don’t know what will.
I gotta admit, this video made me tear up a bit. Have you [...]

On Blogging for Choice day, the 35th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision on abortion, I wrote a post for my other blog about anti-abortion eighth graders at a Catholic school. That post was read on the air and discussed on the Head On Radio Network, and you can hear the whole discussion [...]

What age is old enough to have sex? When are we old enough to have babies? Is statutory rape a fair law? Is a 9th grade girl with a 19-year-old boyfriend different from two high school seniors, one at 17 and one 19? What about kids who come from countries where lots of people [...]

In a recent NPR article, Zainab Salbi, the president of Women for Women International said that, often times, refugee camps will have special areas for rape victims, an area for people whose family has died, and other such areas so as to label refugees for reporters. The dehumanization of refugees (which is kind of reminicent [...]

Reason Two.
Since 1996, the number of abortions has been going down.
Reason Three.
Almost anyone [...]

Yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled against a woman who was filing a pay disparity suit against her employers at the Goodyear tire plant in Gadsden, Atlanta. This seemed it would be the easiest ruling ever, as the woman gave documented, undisputed, evidence that she had been paid less than any of her colleagues, even those [...]

I have a boyfriend and my family does not want me to have sex with him. They say I am too young and so is he. (Kissing and hugging are fine, but hands must always stay above the waist.) They want me to be older, to be in love, and to be safe when I [...]

The US government denies basic healthcare to about 15% of all active-duty personell in our military. The female 15%, that is. (And more, too, but let’s focus on one terrible problem at a time.) Women cannot get abortions at military heathcare facilities, and, thanks to Bush’s anti-woman appointees, cannot get Plan B at base pharmacies.
The [...]

Mother’s Day Proclamation - 1870
by Julia Ward Howe Arise then…women of this day!
Arise, all women who have hearts!
Whether your baptism be of water or of tears!
Say firmly:
“We will not have questions answered by irrelevant agencies,
Our husbands will not come to us, reeking with carnage,
For caresses and applause.
Our sons shall not be taken from us [...]
